Deal: December tax revenues up 10 percent

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for December totaled $2.26 billion, for an increase of $206.1 million, or 10 percent, compared to last year when net tax collections totaled nearly $2.06 billion. Year-to-date, net tax collections totaled $11.3 billion, for an increase of $444.7 million, or 4.1 percent, over December 2016, when net tax revenues totaled roughly $10.86 billion six months into the fiscal year.

Local and State Governments Closing Early Monday

Due to the single most spectacular event to tackle our great City & Mercedes Benz Stadium for 2018, Gov. Deal & Mayor Lance Bottoms along with Fulton County government officials announced today that state and local government offices in metro Atlanta will close early Monday, January 8. The City of Atlanta will close at 2:30 p.m. Fulton County & GA state governments will close at 3 p.m. Unless you’re going to the game or you absolutely positively must be downtown, why not consider telecommuting.
